Aegis was formed in 1995 by a group of Preston-based construction professionals specifically to provide services required by the introduction of the Construction (Design & Management) (CDM) Regulations in 1994.
CDM services still represent a significant part of the company’s business, however, the range of health, safety, environmental and risk management services provided by Aegis has expanded. In 1999 Aegis took over a long established Clerk of Works business providing inspection and quality control services to clients in construction. Similarly, the company identified, in 2004, that environmental issues were an increasing concern for companies and so started to provide environmental advice and assessments, specifically BREEAM and DREAM.
Throughout its history Aegis has used the knowledge and experience gained from working in the construction and engineering industries – traditionally hazardous environments – to offer health and safety advice and guidance to clients in other sectors, such as education. In addition to general health and safety services, Aegis also has developed specialist capabilities such as Fire Risk Assessments and Site Safety Inspections to offer to clients.
Based in Preston the company works across the North West and nationally. It has gained a reputation for excellence in its services and, as a result, has provided services to clients ranging from multinationals to local charities.
