Stoke on Trent Council

Stoke City Council are a housing stock holding authority with ambitious plans to grow our affordable housing portfolio over the coming years. There is an approved programme for the delivery of c. 1,000 new affordable homes to be provided over the next 5 years. All of the operations are within the city of Stoke-on-Trent and will be on a combination of own asset and new land opportunities. The new homes will include older persons and general needs accommodation.

In addition to the affordable homes programme for the housing revenue account the Council’s private Housing Company, Fortior Homes Ltd, was established in 2016 to:

• Identify and seek to address gaps in the housing market

• Shape the City’s housing offer by delivering high quality homes to buy and rent on the open market

• Help to unlock long term stalled sites by pursuing a regeneration focussed approach to development

• Generate a return for the City Council to re-invest in key services

Over the past 4 years Fortior has developed a portfolio and secured a second pipe line which will see circa 800 new homes for private rent and open market sale delivered across the city by 2025.
