The scheme consists of a three storey Extra Care Block with 48 x 1 bed apartments and 3 x 2 bed apartments including residents communal lounge, dining, and kitchen area. Residents’ laundry and scooter room with 24/7 on site support staff. Also on the site is a mixture of bungalows, 10 x 2 bed and 8 x 1 bed including a specialist bariatric bungalow.
The site was partially former housing properties which were demolished, garage site and open waste land which attracted antisocial behaviour. The site is on a steep slope and the building has been designed over three levels to manage this.
The extra care will be heated using ground source heat pumps and solar PV to offset electric usage.
