Johnnie Johnson Housing is a not-for-profit housing association dedicated to offering quality homes for independent living. We provide a wide range of quality homes for 5000 residents in the North West, North East, Yorkshire and Derbyshire.
Our vision, Living Longer, Living Better, is simply about helping people age well and live independently for longer. We provide affordable, quality housing and services for older people, enabling them to live independently at home for as long as possible. We want our services to help people lead a good quality of life, with the right level of support, all at an affordable price.
It is important for us to be market leaders in Independent Living in a market position between basic social housing and high-end private sector retirement homes. We campaign to promote awareness and identify solutions to address the deficiency in good quality, affordable homes for independent living for older people.
To honour the organisation Johnnie Johnson founded and our heritage, we have made a promise to the existing military community to offer support to both serving and former members of the Armed Forces, together with their families.
In 2018, we showed our upmost support and commitment to the Armed Forces community by signing the Armed Forces Covenant. Later that year, we signed the Covenant again in the presence of Andy Burnham, Mayor for Greater Manchester, together with our Greater Manchester Housing Group partners.
As a Housing Association we manage a property portfolio worth £120m which includes houses, bungalows, flats, studio apartments and retirement schemes, offering our customers a range of housing choices. Our team of over 200 people supports our residents in their local area through dedicated Neighbourhood Teams and a Customer Services Hub which gives support to both customers and colleagues.
