Social Value update – 2 years in

July 25th, 2022

Social value is one of the cornerstones of ICN. As well as supporting the delivery of building much needed affordable homes, every call off from the framework looks to provide additional social value that positively impacts the wider economy. In the first two years of this framework our clients and suppliers have pledged social value contributions in excess of £18m, and already delivered social value outcomes in excess of £520k. These include:

  • Work experience placements
  • Donations to Age UK/ National Energy Action
  • Funded 7 Apprenticeships
  • Supported several local initiatives including the Oldham Christmas Food Drive, Northmoor Community Centre and Moss Side Millennium Powerhouse
  • Carbon Literacy Training

RJD & Neo Projects are ICN consultants who have generously provided support in the past few months. Both consultants recently supported Northmoor Community Association (NCA) to develop unused space at its iconic Beswick Coop Building as part of its ICN social value commitments. Thanks to its funding to cover the costs of flooring, painting the walls and clearing old furniture, previously unused space at NCA’s Centre in Longsight is now ready to be used for meeting rooms that can be hired for use.
